Program Description:
This course introduces Cross-Cultural Communication and how to navigate cultural differences in a veterinary setting.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the difference between Cultural Competency and Cultural Humility and how they work in tandem.
2. Understand the aspects of cultural differences and where they come into play when working with clients and coworkers.
3. Be able to navigate conflicts that arise due to or involving cultural differences.
About the Presenter
Stiles Foster (he/they) is currently the Chief Learning Officer at blendVET. Throughout his extensive career in veterinary medicine, he has transitioned from being a veterinary technician to working as the diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging (DEIB) manager at a major corporate veterinary emergency group and DEIB consultant within the veterinary profession. During their pivot into the world of DEIB, Stiles claimed the inaugural role as the first DEIB professional within their corporation, developing & overseeing the educational team, content, programming, & strategy prior to joining blendVET.
