blendvet understands that to tackle the staffing and diversity issues affecting veterinary medicine today, that starts with the future generation of veterinary professionals.
Our pathway program is designed to offer connection, resources, and support for kids from traditionally underserved communities, including BIPOC, Queer, and children with disabilities, and provide them with mentors, role models, and support for exploring a career in veterinary medicine. In addition, we offer guidance and resources for parents to support their children through the pre-vet, application, and vet school process.
Our events are structured so that the kids receive a full day of immersive learning from veterinary professionals who look like them. We provide hands on instruction in a safe environment, and we encourage the students and their parents to connect with industry folks who are present for the event.
With this program, we hope to see the demographic of veterinary medicine change to represent the same diverse individuals who are seeking out veterinary care every day. We know this to be the answer to our staffing and retention issues, and believe this is the only way for veterinary medicine to thrive and grow as an industry.
We hope that you will support us in this endeavor, and that you will give us the opportunity to educate your kids and set them up for a successful career!
Thank you to our valued sponsors!
We train & certify veterinary teams in DEI through self-paced modules, hands-on workshops, and facilitated discussions.
blendvet™ cultivates a thriving workplace culture of belonging, builds trusting relationships within diverse communities, and empowers teams to increase the pipeline of underrepresented minorities (URMs) within veterinary medicine.
