Why are pathway events important?

blendvet understands that to tackle the staffing and diversity issues affecting veterinary medicine today, that starts with the future generation of veterinary professionals.

Our pathway program is designed to offer connection, resources, and support for kids from traditionally underserved communities, including BIPOC, Queer, and children with disabilities, and provide them with mentors, role models, and support for exploring a career in veterinary medicine. In addition, we offer guidance and resources for parents to support their children through the pre-vet, application, and vet school process.

Our events are structured so that the kids receive a full day of immersive learning from veterinary professionals who look like them. We provide hands on instruction in a safe environment, and we encourage the students and their parents to connect with industry folks who are present for the event.

With this program, we hope to see the demographic of veterinary medicine change to represent the same diverse individuals who are seeking out veterinary care every day. We know this to be the answer to our staffing and retention issues, and believe this is the only way for veterinary medicine to thrive and grow as an industry.

We hope that you will support us in this endeavor, and that you will give us the opportunity to educate your kids and set them up for a successful career!

THANK YOU for organizing the event and making it happen!

I learned a lot from the event and fully enjoyed the rotations and the hands-on experiences. I am fortunate to be able to volunteer with an amazing rescue which has opened many opportunities and has taught me so much about animals, their care, and the vet field.

I definitely want to work in vet med and appreciate you putting together such an informative and fun event!

I left feeling seen, validated, so proud of myself, proud of my community. If being immersed in this group was so inspiring for me, a 30 year old adult, I can only imagine the impact blend is having on the next generation!

I arrived expecting to use my time and knowledge to pour into the hearts and minds of others. I left with my own cup running over, and understanding why my spirit led me to this space.

My heart is so full. I definitely received more than I gave, which only ignites me to give MORE. Now, I'm seeking out more ways to pay it forward.

I'm so grateful for the genuine and pure-hearted people who traveled from all over to put ACTION behind their words. The blendvet™ crew truly showed up and showed out with full hearts ready to pour into and uplift each other and the next generation.

If you want to shift vet med forward with amazing people with pure intentions and good vibes, blend vet is out here doing the damn thing!
