What is the blendVET Achiever program?

The blendVET x Hills Student Achiever Cohort is a 10-week interactive online program with self-paced modules and live facilitations.

You will explore DEIB-focused communication, leadership, and allyship topics within the veterinary field. You will also gain access to our private community platform, where you can engage with current and previous blendVET students, complete program challenges, and attend live events.

This course is RACE-approved and offers a unique opportunity to network and gain insight into the inclusive progression of veterinary medicine.

Virtual Programming

2.5-hour Cohort Orientation providing the background to why DEIB is important in Veterinary Medicine and what you can expect from your program.

Post-program session to discuss best practices and ways forward for sustainability.

Continuing Education Credits

 Seven (7) RACE-approved self-paced virtual DEIB modules accessed through The Community, a virtual blendVET networking platform to engage with current and previous blendVET students.”

 Individual, post-module, Online Quiz/Assessment.

Facilitated Enrichment sessions

Three (3) Virtual Facilitated sessions to allow for a deeper understanding of selected program content.

Supplemental reading, Resources, Activities, and Self-reflection assignments to accompany each module.

  1. Can any student join the blendVETx Hills Student Achiever program? 

    Yes, This program is open to ALL Veterinary Students! 

  2. How much does this program cost?

    For you? Nothing! This summer student cohort is being sponsored by our generous friends at Hills Pet Nutrition, and you will receive our entire 10-week program (valued at $1200) at no cost.

  3. How many live or facilitated sessions are included, and are RACE approved?

    The program has five live sessions scheduled: the program orientation, three in-depth facilitated module sessions, and a post-program workshop. Live sessions are not RACE-approved, as they are intended for discussion in a psychologically safe space.

  4. How should I structure my schedule for the live interactive or facilitated sessions?

    All 60 to 90-minute sessions are held at 7 PM EST with corresponding dates listed in the cohort syllabus and provided 30 days before the start of the cohort.

  5. How long do I have to complete the course?

    Online programming will commence at each respective cohort's designated end and start dates. However, program modules are self-paced.

  6. How will my credits be received?

    blendVET Achiever certificates, badges, and RACE-approved credit hours will be emailed to each cohort participant. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to submit any necessary documentation to their regional license-governing body.
